The transformation was inspired by actress Leslie Bibb’s iconic bob from The White Lotus, and was executed by renowned celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan, famous for creating the "Rachel" cut for Jennifer Aniston .


Jenna Bush Hager is taking a daring next step with her hair ahead of summer — and tapped a celebrity hairstylist for her transformation.

On the Monday, June 16, episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, Hager was joined by celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan and The White Lotus actress Leslie Bibb, who co-hosted the episode, so she could get a haircut that she's been waiting months for.

"When I was here back in March, Jenna vowed to get on board with the bob, and today is the day," Bibb told the audience.

Before sitting in the hairstylist's chair, Bush Hager gave the audience members some background on McMillan, noting that his haircut on Bibb for The White Lotus inspired several viewers of the show to also cut their hair.

During the live broadcast, Hager sat in the salon chair as McMillan snipped away, revealing a chic blonde bob with added volume. Bibb, who co-hosted the episode, offered enthusiastic support, calling Hager a "badass" and praising the new look . Despite initial hesitation—Hager's daughter even warned her, "Mom, don't do it"—the host embraced the change, joking about "washing the Hoda right out of her hair" .

The full reveal of Hager's new bob haircut was featured in the June 17 episode of Jenna & Friends, showcasing a fresh and modern look that has garnered attention for its chic and polished style.

When it comes to hairdressing, Jenna Bush Hager is a pure daredevil.

The "Today" show co-host, 43, threw caution to the wind and underwent a bold hair transformation on the NBC morning talk show's June 16 episode. Bush Hager was previously known for her shoulder-length blonde locks.

Taking the encouragement of "The White Lotus" star Leslie Bibb, who previously goaded Bush Hager to try out the blunt bob style made viral by her character Kate Bohr, the TV personality and daughter of former President George W. Bush got the short hairdo live on the air.

"You are such a badass, you're so cool," Bibb told Bush Hager as celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan began the haircut. "I love this."

Even Bush Hager was taken aback by the drastic hair change at one point. "Whoa, that's so short," she said after McMillan trimmed one of her bottom layers.

Viewers will have to tune into the June 17 edition of the "Today" show to see Bush Hager unveil the full haircut. Regardless of the court of public opinion's verdict, Bush Hager will have to answer to the style approval of her children Margaret "Mila," Poppy and Henry "Hal."

"I will say, my daughter was like, 'Mom, don't do it,'" Bush Hager recalled. "'You're going to regret it.'"

In an interview with Today.com ahead of Bush Hager's haircut, McMillan said he wanted to make the TV host's bob "a little more modern and sexy" than the traditionally layered hairstyle.

"You can slick it behind your ears, like do the tuck," said McMillan of the look's versatility. "You can wear it natural; you can wear it wavy."
